EXODUS Chapter 2 - The Birth of the Prophet Moses
And a man of the tribe of Levi took a wife from the same tribe.
And the woman conceived, and had a son: and when she saw him that he was a lovely child, she hid him for three months.
And when she could not longer hide him, she made an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child in it; and she laid it in the reeds on the river's bank.
And his sister stood afar off, to find out what would be done to him.
And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river; and her maidens walked along the river's bank; and when she saw the ark among the reeds, she sent her maid to fetch it.
And when she opened it, she saw the child: and, the baby wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews' children.
