2 KINGS 4
4 A wife of the prophets companions cried out to Elisha, “Your helper my husband is dead, and you know he honored the Lord. However now his lender is coming to make my two boys his slaves.”
2 Elisha replied to her, “You want help? Then tell me, what do you have in your house?”“I have nothing there at all,” she said, “only a small jar of olive oil.”
3 Elisha said, “Go ask all your neighbors for empty jars. Do not ask for just a few. 4 Then go inside with your sons. Pour oil into the jars, and put the full ones aside.”
5 She did as she was told.
6 When the jars were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another.”
But he replied, “There is none left.” Then the oil stopped flowing.
7 She went and told Elisha, the man of God, who said, “Sell the oil and pay your debts. You all can live on what is left.”
