1-2 Adam and Eve had two sons Cain and Abel.
Now Abel raised livestock, and Cain worked the land. 3 Cain brought some produce as an offering to the LORD. 4 And Abel also brought an offering—fat portions of the firstborn of his livestock. The LORD favored on Abel's offering, 5 but not Cain's. So Cain was very angry, and he was sad.
6 Then the LORD said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why is you sad? 7 If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to possess you, but you must control it.”
8 Then Cain said to his brother Abel, “Let’s go out to the field.” While they were out there, Cain attacked Abel and killed him.
